We are three Gas Safe registered engineers. We went through this route ourselves, and the portfolio was the part that nearly stopped us.
When we were coming through, the classroom side was manageable. The part that stalled everything was the on-site evidence: finding a working Gas Safe registered engineer who had both the time to supervise properly and enough of the right live jobs coming through to actually build a portfolio around.
Everyone we asked was busy. That is not unkindness — supervising a trainee costs a working engineer time on a schedule that is already tight, and the responsibility for the evidence sits with them. So the answer was usually no, and the qualification sat unfinished.
Gas Track Academy exists to solve that exact problem for other people. We went through it recently enough to remember what it feels like, and we now run a high volume of live domestic work across London — which is precisely what makes supervising a candidate practical rather than a favour.
That recent first-hand experience is the useful part. We understand what candidates are preparing for, where people commonly get stuck, and which details of portfolio work are genuinely confusing the first time you meet them.

Worth being clear before anyone pays us anything.
This is for you if
- You are on a recognised gas training route and have portfolio requirements to meet
- Your portfolio is still completely blank — 0% is a normal place to start
- You started, then stalled because you could not get on site
- Your training centre has asked for corrections or more evidence
- You cannot find an engineer with the time and the volume of work to help
This is not for you if
- You have not begun any recognised gas training route and have no programme requirements — a placement with us is not a substitute for that
- You already have an engineer supervising you with enough suitable work coming through
- You are looking for a signature without doing the work. That is not something anyone can honestly offer
